AUBRY CLEGG
YWAM MISSIONS TRIP
Week 9
Last overseas week +Celebrations
Our last official week in Mongolia was marked by CELEBRATIONS!!!!
Our team celebrated an incredible 2 months of ministry. We shared laughs and stories. We also shared rough moments and frustrations. We processed, cried, and rejoiced together.
The team celebrated my 1/2 birthday and surprised me with flower and cards. They also had a fancy dessert for me at dinner.
We also celebrated our team-mates engagement and threw her a bridal shower “Mongolian style” We sang a little Karaoke and walked around the city with bridal sash, hats, glasses, and laughter. We had fun.
We did a little last minute sight seeing, shopping, and self care (nails are becoming our thing). Then we packed our bags, cleaned our space and got back on a flight headed to Kona, via Korea.
We had a “groundhog day moment” and got to do June 1 twice. Yes, we gained a day (reliving that date twice), but thankfully God’s mercies are new every morning, even on a “do over” day!
We landed back in Kona on June 1…tired…jet lagged…but ready to celebrate with the rest of the teams from all over the world!
June 2- Kona
Week 8
What a fun last week of ministry in Mongolia!
We had a busy last week. Our team made an effort to really push hard and enjoy our last week of serving here in Mongolia. Many of us were extremely tired and some even fighting the beginning of coughs and colds, but we didn’t give up.
One of our sweet leaders broke her ankle... so we stepped up and took on more responsibility.
We created prophetic art for a ladies event. We found watercolor paints and created beautiful pictures which we then wrote out Scripture or prophetic statements on. (We had our translators write them in Mongolian for us so we could copy them onto the pictures!) Some of the kids even made art for us…check out their art/cover photo on the video———————>
We continued to put on events, including a successful “Brave Love” womens event. I led the activation part, which included giving them prompts to process the topics we discussed and time to evaluate their heart and how they wanted to respond. We prayed for them to step in as moms of the next generation, but also as daughters—coming like a child with faith for what God could do in their lives, families, and community.
We visited orphanages. The children were so adorable. It was so much fun to spend time with them, play games with them, and listen to the songs they prepared for us. They taught us a fun Asian game that I want to find so I can bring it back.
We did some sightseeing on our day off and I GOT TO RIDE A CAMEL!
This ginger had a fun experience on the back of a very hairy, ginger camel.
I can’t believe we leave the country in a few days to begin our travel back to Kona.
Please pray for our flights, layovers, and overall safety for our travels.
May 27- Mongolia
Week 7
We moved to a new location!
Last week on our day off, we traveled to a “new city.” Technically back to where we started. (In the beginning we spent three days in this spot before heading out on our Mongolian adventure. I can’t believe that was already a month ago. In some ways it feels like months rather than weeks, and in other ways I can’t believe its almost over.
Our 7hour train ride brought us to a busier city. It is a different pace of life and so evangelizing has been more difficult. Everyone is in a hurry to go somewhere, unlike in the villages where the pace was slower and people wanted to stop and talk to us.
We have had some really busy days too. We have done prayer walks around the city, praying for the people and churches. We also participated in a Prayer event with the local YWAM students, as well as a local outreach day. We are amazed at what God is doing in Mongolia and we pray it continues to grow!
This past week we worked in an orphanage. We served the staff and children. And then we served in children’s ministry at church on Sunday.
I can honestly say I am tired and a little homesick. I am doing my best to stay focused on what God has me here for. I want to serve him whole heartedly, but I am looking forward to being home with my family.
May 19- Mongolia
Week 6 (Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms)
We have had some really great days!
It has been fun continuing to explore and adventure with the nomadic culture.
We spent our team day riding horses and sharing the gospel with our guides. All seven men prayed to receive Jesus!
That was a great day off!
Our mission is to tell as many people about Jesus. So we continue to share the gospel in events to the children and women and strangers on the street.
The ladies events have been so fun. We are getting really good at sharing Jesus while we paint their nails. We love showing them their value in Christ and the beauty that he has for them on the inside and out.
Everywhere we go we get to meet incredible people. My friend and I had a conversation for over an hour with a sweet local lady. She was so pleased to get to know us, she took us for ice cream, and we spent time listening to her questions and showing her that love leans in.
I called my mom on mother’s day and face timed with extended family. I definitely miss family and home, but am trying to stay focused on serving and bravely loving the people here.
Today we traveled on our day off to a new city, where we will host more events, evangelize, and serve the local churches.
I CAN’T WAIT TO TELL YOU MORE IN THE COMING WEEK!
May 12- Mongolia
Week 5
Thankful for all God is doing!
We enjoyed getting to know more about the nomadic culture, including visiting more families, yurts, and beautiful land.
We have seen beautiful herds of livestock: horses, cows (really hairy ones!), and sheep
We continue to host “Brave Love Women’s Events— worship, testimonies, and messages of what is burning on our hearts.
I was given the opportunity to speak, preach my “burning heart message.” While preparing, God began speaking new parts to my message and so I prayed for God to help me as my message began to shift and develop. (I may have freaked out a little when every thing seemed overwhelming and confusing. But I was thankful when I texted my mom at 3am her time and she said God had already woken her up to pray for me). God brought peace and clarity.
I shared about God’s desire to use us despite our weakness! Moses was chosen by God to be His mouthpiece. Moses felt unqualified and disqualified. I can relate 100%. My whole life I have struggled with reading, writing, and speaking. BUT GOD! He is teaching me that a life surrendered to Jesus, living in relationship with Him, equips us and provides strength when we are weak. I shared my testimony of skipping school because of the extreme anxiety and fear I had about oral presentations. I shared how I felt less than and not enough. BUT GOD! God calls to us (burning our hearts with his voice), chooses us (even in our weakness), and commissions us (even with our insecurities). God revealed to me that “God’s compassion and kindness never cease. They are new every morning; (and) His faithfulness is abundant.” God is our portion and we can put our hope in him, trust him, and watch him use us!
We continue to share the gospel in women’s events and on the street. One of our events included pampering the ladies. We painted their nails, did crafts, and loved on them. I got to share the gospel with two ladies while I did their nails, and each of them prayed to accept Jesus! Best nail appointment ever.
We blessed our YWAM base by cooking dinner for them before packing up to travel to a new city!
We loaded up in a van and drove a few hours to a new base where we will spend the next week continuing to share God’s love. We will host more events, evangelize, and serve the local churches. (Today I served in kids ministry. The children are adorable).
We have learned to trust our teammates and back each other up. We laugh, cry, tell stories, share about our families, and experience God’s faithfulness together. (One of my teammates trusted me to cut their hair. Don’t worry it wasn’t my first time, I had a few other clients back in Hawaii. We both agreed that I did a good job!)
May 5- Mongolia
Week 4
This week was full of activities, firsts, and exciting moments.
We got to spend time in the city and also saw beautiful countryside.
We got to go inside a round house called a yurt. It was incredible to see and sit inside.
We ate a “mystery meat” that had a jelly like texture. I was the only one able to get mine down…and I helped a friend with hers (not because I wanted to but because I wanted to honor the host)
We had the privilege of being part of a couple local women’s event. We shared testimonies, worshiped together, and saw God come to encourage and strengthen.
We packed a backpack and traveled to another city where we stayed for three days. There we went out into the villages to share the gospel and distribute Bibles. God moved and we got to see 4 men come to know Jesus! It was powerful to see them choose to turn their back on pain and addiction, and choose life!
We are developing relationships with our interpreters, and we watched Jesus bring healing as we prayed for one of our sweet translator’s eyes. God showed up!
We hosted a youth event and shared our testimonies, played games. The youth of Mongolia are not like loud wild American youth. They were very reserved and quiet. We pray that we blessed them and stirred up hope that will anchor them.
We continued to grow together as a team and see God stretch us, grow us, and teach us how to step into our gifts. I am seeing God develop my leadership gifting with each event.
April 28- Mongolia
Week 3
Leaving Country #1 and entering Country #2 had a few rough moments.
By now when I think, write, or say the word “travel” you can assume I am talking about long multiple flights… layovers… busses, trains, and jet lag. BUT GOD!
We arrived safely in country, but not without a few bumps and bruises. Literally! (have a few scabs too)
Yes, I know know what foreign airplane or airport food can do to your stomach, and trust me it’s not fun.
BUT GOD! He did a miracle and took the intense pain away. (please pray for me…still dealing with some issues from this).
Our team is gladly challenging ourselves to step out of comfort zone and find people around town and in stores that we can share the love of Jesus with. We have had some really cool conversations.
We have led worship and prayer nights with local YWAM students and experienced God’s presence.
I got to share a word I had burning on my heart about inadequacy and not disqualifying yourself like Moses. Speaking with an interpreter takes some getting used to, but like my message said: God can use us even with our weaknesses!
.
April 20- Mongolia
Thank you for your support!
Thank you for your support!
Thank you for helping pay off my travel visa and get my my cold weather gear
PAST UPDATES:
Country 1 was eventful!
LOTS OF HARD AND REWARDING MOMENTS!
Week 2:
We had meaningful conversations with the local women at our sister school.
*One young mom (my age-19) saw her husband killed right in front of her. She had gun shot scars to prove the trauma she had experienced. I sat with her, listened to her story, and was impacted & inspired. She has come to know Jesus and is seeking refuge, healing, and restoration in him. God gave us a chance to love on these women and also receive love from them. We shared with them about women in the Bible who had to overcome obstacles. Each one found identity in Christ, strength in knowing him, and freedom. We were all encouraged by their examples!
We continued to teach and play with the kids. We laughed, led them in games, and did skits about Bible stories to teach them about God’s love and power.
We put on a FEAST for the women and children at the base. It was a night to celebrate them, what they have overcome, and who they are now that they have freedom in Christ. We were so excited for the dinner, dancing, and time together, but it almost didn’t end well…
*A local person was hired to cater the dinner. As we were looking at the amount of food and dishing out plates for all the guests, we realized something was very wrong. We were not going to have enough food! Our team began to pray for a miracle. We contacted our families to pray with us. If God could take 5 loaves and 2 fish and feed 5000, he surely could help us! We prayed, and continued to dish up the plates of food, asking God to keep it coming. If there was no miracle, there would be no dinner our team and half the guests (who were already getting 1/2 the portion they should have). BUT GOD! God did a miracle and all of the families were fed. Our team even got to eat!
We had the opportunity to pray for people who had pain, loss of hearing, and other issues. We felt the nudge from the Holy Spirit to pray for healings, so we did…and God did miracles! We saw healings- deliverance from many things. We are still gathering the stories and will share later.
Yes we lost luggage, had sickness, went without a lot of food, got little sleep, and sometimes no showers…
BUT we loved lots, gave sacrificially, met inspiring people, saw miracles.
Yes, the bus ran out of gas…but guess what was just across the street? Yes a gas station.
God has been faithful and will continue to be faithful. Because that is who He is!

***Thankful for that shower and change of clothes!
(April 2 - Africa)
Travel Thank yous…
Thank you to those who supported me in this adventure! Many generously sacrificed and gave, even in my last few hours…you saw the value and you made the investment! I am forever grateful. You made it possible for those who will hear, see, and experience God’s love! My team is confident that God is going to unite families, reveal himself to the lost, heal bodies, and bring hope to those who need it. And you have partnered with us to see God’s kingdom come and His will be done on earth!
We are here!
We have travelled the many hours. 48 hours of travel- many airports, many flights…many tired moments, but we have arrived at our first location! Several flights were delayed, and before landing in Africa we had to circle and stay in the air more than an hour longer than we should have due to weather. We finally arrived. Sadly my luggage didn’t. (our flight from Germany also was delayed and so the connection to our last flight was VERY QUICK and somehow my bags didn’t make the connection). But I made it…and from airport to the base, it was pouring rain, dark, and the driver was driving really fast…I prayed most of the way to base. But we arrived safely!
We will be serving, learning, and growing along side the local team.
I expect these 2 weeks will be full of music, laughter, dancing, and dreaming.
We will get to see what God has started and done already in their lives... just like He has and is doing in us.
I am sure we will hear stories of what God has already done. In my life He has broke off fear and empowered me like I have never experienced. Similar to us, they have been called to their nation. We have partnered with these beautiful ladies and the local team to carry HIS LOVE AND TRUTH. At some point we will be asked to give up sleep, good food, showers, and modern conveniences to obey God’s command to go and make disciples of all nations. But I know it will all be worth it!
The assignment
2 countries for 2 months.
Our testimonies and God’s love will be shared with people who need Jesus.
Our team will serve women and families from both cultures.
Our goal is to show them value, love, hope, and what a transformed life in Christ looks like!
We anticipate:
Training and working with 120 local women!
Putting on events for women and children
Pouring out God’s love on cities and villages.
Watching people come face to face with Jesus’ saving power
