In process
“In process.” That is what we all are feeling. We see the incredible heights we have risen to, as we look back on the places from where we have been. Yet we still look up desiring more. There are places where we want to go. The truth is, where we are is foundational to where we are going. There is no doubt, God takes us from glory to glory. So if we don’t see the next good thing “yet” then maybe we are still being fashioned, equipped, and prepared for what is to come.
What God is doing, working in you and around you in this moment, is key to the next step. Like a staircase being made new, the ground level places of your heart must be prepared to hold the weight of what is to be built. The current areas in your life must be made ready, rightly set. It requires partnering with Him, allowing Him to measure, align, position, and connect while we remain. If we don’t, we may sit on this level longer than we need to.
The process is messy. There are parts that look complete, while pieces are still undone. Process involves active moments and waiting. Thankfully, in the movement and in the halt, process is happening. Process requires embracing the now. It is crucial that we do not rush through the waiting or stop momentum when it is time to move. It is a partnership with the skilled craftsman Himself. Awareness is key. We can acknowledge the process is necessary, despite the untidy chaos that we can feel, without compromising our trust. Aware of the mess, we can believe that God is able and He will finish what He started.
We are not stuck. If we actively wait and trust His timing, He will move us toward things “yet” to come. Since God is working, the question we must answer is, “Are we aware of what He is doing?” Awareness helps us know if we are to sit where we are, stand with anticipation, or step into the next level. The process may be painful, but the current position is not the finish line. There is still glory to step into— His goodness is in the waiting and in the walking.
